Unpackaged shopping in Bern

The sustainable shopping experience

The sustainable and conscious use of resources is very important to us. In the roastery, we offer various dishes every day that are "as good as it gets". In this way, we avoid sitting on a mountain of food in the evening. If there are any leftovers, we give them to our employees.

Sustainability is also very important for our coffee products. In addition to our organic/Fairtrade blends, we also have an exciting alternative to aluminum capsules in our range: the E.S.E. pods are biodegradable and the 20-piece loose packaging is 100% aluminum-free.

At Gurtengasse 6, you can also shop "unpackaged". We are the first coffee shop in Switzerland to have an Azomico silo system with preservative gas so that the aromas are preserved until you prepare your coffee at home. Please don't forget to bring a suitable container. You can also buy reusable hermetic tins from us. We look forward to making a joint contribution to waste reduction with you.

Unpackaged stores are becoming increasingly important - and we like that. We therefore also supply various "unpackaged stores" with our fine coffee. The coffee is filled into large containers immediately after roasting so that aluminum packaging is not used.

You can buy our fine unpackaged coffee, pasta, nuts, flours, fruit, vegetables, everyday items and much more in the following stores:

Pallet - Münstergasse

Pallet aims to make a contribution to strengthening a sustainable economy. This is achieved in various ways: a wide range of unpackaged, organic food, hygiene and care products enables customers to avoid unnecessary packaging material and buy sustainably produced goods. When selecting the product range, preference is given to local producers wherever possible. This avoids costly transportation and promotes the local economy. If products come from overseas, Palette relies on credible suppliers who, in addition to organic farming, also demand fair working conditions. Reasonable prices should ensure that the real costs of organic production, delivery and sale of the goods are covered and at the same time enable a broad section of the population to make purchases. Finally, Palette would like to offer the opportunity for exchange on sustainability-related topics through information in various media and events.
