Certifications

With the FSSC 22000 standard, we meet one of the highest internationally recognized food safety standards, which exceeds legal requirements not only in our operations, but along the entire supply chain. The FSSC 22000 standard is based on ISO 22000 certification and ensures that our internal self-checking system and HACCP concept are functioning and are regularly reviewed. In this way, we ensure that we continuously develop our quality system.

Our Pura Vida, Verde, Terroir [BOL] and Lorraine coffees come from Max Havelaar Fairtrade certified cooperatives. The Max Havelaar Fairtrade label stands for products that are fairly traded and produced according to strict social and environmental criteria. These include long-term trading relationships, a minimum price and a Fairtrade premium. The Fairtrade premiums are used by the cooperatives to implement various projects that support coffee farmers in a wide range of areas such as education, health and environmentally friendly cultivation. Thanks to the fair trade conditions, the farmers and workers can thus invest in a sustainable future, from which we all benefit.

The Rainforest Alliance is an international, non-profit organisation founded in 1987 that works at the intersection of trade, agriculture and forestry. Blasercafé purchases approximately 255 tons of Rainforest Alliance certified green coffee annually.

Our blends Verde, Lorraine, Forte, Pura Vida and Mokka Express are Bio certified. Blasercafé has been offering certified blends since the time when Bio certifications appeared. New Bio qualities are constantly being sought. Blasercafé buys about 250 tons of green coffee with Bio certification every year.

This certification means that only organic fertilizer is used for cultivation and that water, air, soil and plants are treated considerately and sustainably during cultivation.

In 2007, we were the first Swiss company to be accepted into the Italian organization Caffè Speciali Certificati (CSC) with its extremely strict quality criteria. Our popular Rosso & Nero espresso blend meets all the criteria and proudly bears the CSC label. The blend is characterized by a perfectly balanced taste.

The Hebrew word "kosher" means "permitted/pure" and is part of the Jewish dietary law. The laws are part of the Torah, which consists of 248 commandments and 365 prohibitions and forms the first part of the Hebrew Bible. Upon customer request, we organise certification according to Kosher standards.

"Halal" means something like "pure" or "permitted". It is therefore about which foods, things or even actions are permissible and Islam-compliant from an Islamic perspective. At the customer's request, we organise certification according to the Halal standard.

On behalf of customers, in so-called contract production, we process Demeter certified Easy Serving Espresso Pods (E.S.E. Pods). The coffee pods are compostable after use.
