Cleaning the E.S.E Pod machines

Cleaning before first use
We recommend that you run through half a fresh water tank before using your new coffee pod machine for the first time. To do this, simply fill up the tank, place the container under the outlet and press the coffee button for as long as necessary.

Care and cleaning
The drip tray should be briefly rinsed with warm water every day. If the sieve and the sieve holder are encrusted with coffee residue, a Clean-Tab from our webshop can help. To do this, place a tablet in the plunger and close it. Now press the coffee selection button and let the water run through until the tablet has dissolved and the water runs clear. Regular descaling is also important. You can find out how to do this below.

Descaling
Limescale is the biggest enemy of small coffee machines. For energy efficiency reasons, E.S.E espresso machines are equipped with a thermoblock. Unfortunately, limescale builds up quickly. Our tip: Use soft bottled water or water from a water filter jug. However, a little limescale will always build up. We recommend descaling the machine every 3 months.

Signs that the machine is heavily calcified:

•     Only a little water runs through the machine (coffee drips out)
•     The coffee is no longer hot enough
